 USTM Signed MoU with Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi 

A MoU has been signed between Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi (JMI) and the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) today. The MoU was signed by Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, JMI on behalf of Jamia Milia Islamia University and Shri Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, USTM, on behalf of University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya in the Office of the Vice Chancellor JMI, New Delhi on May, 5th 2016 at 11:30 am.
The MoU between Jamia Milia Islamia, one of the leading oldest Universities of the country and the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), an emerging technology university in North East provides a road map in relation to future cooperation between the two Universities. The collaboration will pave ways for USTM’s Vision-2020 in pertaining to be a university of national repute.
The higher officials, including the Registrar, the Deans and other distinguished authorities of JMI and a twenty member high official’s team from USTM were present during the MoU signing. The team USTM comprises the members like the Vice Chancellor, USTM Dr PG Rao; Dr Ajit Verma, Vice Chairman, (ASTIF) Amity University; Dr Syed Zafar Mahmood, IRS, President, Zakat Foundation of India, New Delhi; Shri Syed Zuber Ahmad, Chief Editor Muslim Mirror, New Delhi; Mr Christopher Sanchez Morales, Embassy of the Republic of Costa Rica, New Delhi and the higher officials of USTM. A high level academic meeting has also organized between the two universities to discuss various issues to make the collaboration a meaningful tool for academic growth especially for USTM.
The collaboration with Jamia Milia Islamia is a milestone for USTM to excel in the field of research, academics and student development. With the guidance from a university of repute like JMI, USTM can expand its academic wings in the path of achieving excellence.
Shri Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, USTM in his statement said, “It is a landmark achievement & opportunity for USTM community to excel under the patronage of JMI who has already made a long journey in the field of academics”. He expressed his gratefulness to the authorities of Jamia Milia Islamia for accepting the proposal of MoU and made the dream a reality.
