"Mahbubul Hoque committed to carry
forward the mission of
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam"
“Dream is not what which you see while sleeping it is the
something that doesn’t let you sleep” keeping this words
of Dr APJ Abul Kalam in mind to build a world class university
in this remote part of the country, the Chancellor of
University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya, and Chairman of
Education Research and Development Foundation (ERDF) Shri
Mahbubul Hoque decided to take few initiatives dedicated as a
tribute to Dr Kalam.
The prime initiatives would be offering fellowship to do
research work leading to PhD from USTM on Dr Kalams Mission,
Translation work of his edited books in local languages to
reach out among masses to educate generations to come,
Establishing Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Innovation and
Rural Technology at USTM, to offer 20 Scholarship in the name
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in each ERDF Institutions for rural BPL
meritorious students. Dedicate one road as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam
road, and to Dedicate one academic block as the Dr APJ Abdul
Kalam Technology Block at USTM campus.
Mr. Hoque said during the "All Religion Prayer Meeting"
organized by the foundation on July 29th a day after the
demise of Dr Kalam, that “Although the great man had left this
world, we have to create followers of him from the coming
generation by encouraging young latent talents. We at ERDF
group of institutions had taken a pledge to groom each and
every student in the mould of Dr. Kalam”. In the last year of
July 23, 2014, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has visited USTM on the
occasion of North East College Principals Conclave 2014. His
visit inspired the entire team ERDF to restore their
dedication to work with more enthusiasm and vigor in their
mission of building quality education institutions in
northeast region.
