Academicians, not Politicians should regulate education
system: Chancellor Hoque

USTM Chancellor M Hoque
delivering the keynote address at National Workshop on
NEP-2019 at Bilasipara College on 19th November 2019
Bilasipara, Dhubri, 19th
November 2019: The education system of the country needs
proper regulation, and academicians must be there for this
task in place of the politicians. This was stated by
Chancellor of the University of Science & Technology
Meghalaya today while making his Keynote Address at a
daylong workshop on “Proposed National Education Policy 2019
and Future Course of Action” organized by Bilasipara College
in Dhubri district of Assam. The workshop was attended by
academicians and college teachers coming from across the
region.
Deliberating on a future course of action for the new
National Education Policy (NEP), participants at the
workshop agreed that there should be proper regulation of
the education system and academicians must be there in place
of politicians. It was also suggested that the NEP has to
focus on research and teaching learning processes and that
education must be meant for all. Academicians were of the
view that nothing can be achieved merely by changing names
of regulation authorities.
The workshop was planned in order to help the participants
to create awareness among the people and student-teacher
community, explore strengths and weaknesses of the proposed
education policy and make an effort to view the NEP-2019
purely from national as well as regional perspective. |
