Ash King performed at RIST ESPLENDIDEZ-2019

9th Mile, Ri Bhoi, April 12, 2019: ESPLENDIDEZ – 2019 (EZ-19), the annual technical festival of Regional Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) came to an end with an electrifying live performance by Bollywood Singing Sensation Ash King at the RIST campus here recently. Around 3500 to 4000 students from RIST & USTM thronged to witness the much awaited earth shattering musical performance. It was for the first time ever when Ash King performed in the state of Meghalaya among the much enthusiastic crowds. Ash King enthralled the large crowd as he took the stage and crooned ‘Ye Mausam Ki Barish’, one of his popular songs.

ESPLENDIDEZ-2019 commenced on 5th April, 2019 with a “Unity Run” at 6 in the morning where students actively participated in large numbers. Mr. Pallab Bhattacharyya, IPS (Retd. DGP, Guwahati, Assam) was invited as chief guest to flag off the run. Before the fag off he emphasized the importance of society in our life and what role being a student should play to form a better society. The Unity Run started from Assam Secretariat via Beltola Baistha Road till APSC Building Khanapara. Later in the morning Mr. Ashish Banerjee (Head of IIHT GUWAHATI, Assam) gave the inaugural speech and hoisted the EZ-19 flag at RIST campus. In his inaugural speech he expressed the importance of unity in diversity.

There were different competitions in EZ-19 such as Open Painting, Gaming, Build – O –Mania, Unplugged, Rhythm Redefined, Mr. & Ms. EZ-19, Battle of Bands, Bike Stunt show and many more in which participants took part in large numbers. Most of the participants were from colleges and schools in and around Assam and Meghalaya, some participants also came all the way from Nagaland and other neighboring states. The Lord of Rocks band from Nagaland came to judge battle of bands. Ms. Pinky Das, the winner of Dazzle Miss India Universe 2018 was invited to judge Shine – O – Light (Mr. & Ms. EZ - 19) competition.
