“We see that while trade and commerce, surface and air
connectivity between India and Bangladesh are being
emphasized, the area concerning education has remained
unexplored. I believe that this initiative will strengthen
bilateral relations between the two countries through
development and expansion of education. This positive note
has been showed through the enthusiastic participation of
the Vice Chancellors of universities of North East India,
apart from those participating from Bangladesh side”, stated
Mahbubul Hoque, International coordinator of the convention
and Chancellor, USTM . The Government of India’s Act East
Policy recognizes this geographical proximity and wants to
open up this region to strengthen bilateral relationships.
“To my understanding, stakeholders of universities of both
the regions must come together and work for mutual benefit.
ICVC 2019 is a timely action in this direction. I am
confident that this convention would open doors for further
networking in the field of education among the ASEAN
countries including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and India’s
North East in near future”, Mr. Hoque added in another
