Ms LR Sangma (IAS), Chairman, Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) and former commissioner of Education department of Govt. of Meghalaya had recently visited the Techno City campus. During her visit she interacted with the students of USTM. Ms Sangma was very much happy to see the rapid growth of the University. While addressing to the students, she said, “I am deeply honoured and privileged to stand here among you all. I shall give you one piece of advice; you have chosen the finest and the best upcoming University well equipped with the best of the infrastructure to mould yourself. This University is a very favorable place to enhance your knowledge. This is the right place to nurture yourself. There will be many opportunities for your success”.

Herself an IAS qualified lady, Ms. Sangma also motivated the students to sit for Civil services examination and said that nothing is impossible with hard work, sincerity and devotion. She further said USTM will give the students a better environment of education because of the location. The University is as such, less disturbed as Northeast is gripped with militancy, ethnic conflicts and problems of the various pressure groups, still the students will feel “home away from home”.
