This is an unique initiative to
give free Education & fee relaxation to meritorious students
belonging to families living Below Poverty Line (BPL)
& economically weaker sections specially from underprivileged
rural areas. Already more than 1000 students are availing this
facility studying in courses like B.
Tech, MCA, MBA, MSW etc.
in various institutes run by the foundation. More
than 500 of these students have already passed out & are
successfully placed in different organizations making the
efforts of ERDF fruitfull. Special relaxation in fee & free
admission facility is also benefiting the deserving students
in the two CBSE schools situated in rural areas.
ERDF also extends merit cum
means scholarship for brilliant students pursuing higher
education elsewhere in India. The grants range from token cash
award, provision for text books, hostel facilities etc. Prof
Qoumrul Hoque Memorial Scholarship is given every year to 25
meritorious and economically weaker section students of the
Barak Valley Region (with special reservation for Chairman’s
Hometown). Prof Qoumrul Hoque memorial scholarship is named
after the renowned Philanthropist and educationist of the
region.
Free Admission For Rank Holder: First five rank holder of
respective state board examination 10th /(10+2) will be given
free admission in any of the Institution under ERDF
Special Relaxation: Special relaxation in fees will be given
to the exceptionally meritorious students belonging to various
backward minority & Tribal communities of NE region as per the
norms of ERDF.
All the initiatives of. ERDF
are noticeable for the facts that the Foundation has been
always focussing on free admission to BPL students in all its
courses, award of scholarships to meritorious poor students
etc. Students willing to apply for freeship in any of the
group institutions under ERD Foundation have to fulfil the
following criteria’s:
He /She should be
Meritorious and from an economically backward Family
Or
He or She should be an orphan and no one to financially
support them
Or
The family income should not exceed 2.5lakh per annum.
Or
Secured very high marks in the last qualifying examination
