  • On the occasion of New Years’ Day 2011, ERDF felicitated nine former Vice Chancellors of NE Universities on 1st January, 2011. His Excellency Governor of Meghalaya Shri R. S. Mooshahary was the Chief Guest of the function.
  • A Scientific talk on Environment Degradation and its sustainability was delivered by Prof. Ajit Verma, Director General, Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Amity University, Noida on10th February, 2011.
  • The foundation celebrates the completion of a decade of its first venture-the Central IT College on 4th June, 2011 where the well placed alumnis & founder employees were felicitated.
  • Orientation programme for the 3rd batch of Engineering students of Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) was organized from 27th to 30th July, 2011 where His Excellency Shri R.S. Mooshahary, Governor of Meghalaya was the Chief Guest along with other eminent academicians as speakers to motivate & encourage the newcomers.
  • The Science Block of RIST was dedicated as Prof. S.D. Phukan Science Block on 7th September, 2011, his 1st death anniversary.  Prof. Phukan was the former Principal JEC, Director, NERIST, Technical Advisor, NEC & finally devoted his last part of life for the  promotion of ERDF Institutions. 
  • Engineers’ Day was celebrated on 15th September, 2011 at RIST with Scientific Model Presentation Competition among the upcoming engineers.
  • ERDF formally launches the “University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya” on 25th September, 2011 at Hotel Landmark, Guwahati & on 4th November, 2011 at Hotel Polo Towers, Shillong in presence of His Excellency Governor of Meghalaya, which was established under the provisions of the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Act (No.6 of 2008) enacted by Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya State and notified vide Notification No LL(B)87/2008/21, dt. 02.12.2008 of Government of Meghalaya.
  • The students of Central IT College participated in a campaign against Heart disease- the“Heart Walk” on 28th September, 2011 in association with Hayat Hospital.
  • A regional Conference on “Educational scenario of Muslims in North East” was organized on 9th October, 2011 to discuss its issues, Problems & Prospects.
  • The foundation made announcement for offering full time research fellowships to two research fellows to work on various aspects of life & work of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on 13th November, 2011 at Guwahati Press Club. Tej Hazarika, son of late Dr. Hazarika was also warmly felicitated when he visited its University campus on 23rd November, 2011 to take note of the fellowship programme. Subsequently two research scholars have been selected for the same by an expert committee & they have already started their research work.
  • A daylong brainstorming workshop titled “Perception of Educational Need of NE India towards creation of Knowledge based society and sustainable livelihood” was organized on 17th December, 2011 & attended by eminent Educationists, Scientists and Teachers from various colleges of North East India including Dr. Hiranya Nath, Associate Professor, Sam Houstan University, Texas, USA.
