Here is a chronological list of educational initiatives taken up by the Foundation :

A Brief about the Institutions under the Foundation:

  • Central IT College:

In its ten year of existence Central IT College (CITC) has come a long way from the days of its inception in 2001 with only 18 students and four computers. Today, it is a ISO 9001-2000 certified college boasting of more than 3,000 students and 70 faculty members. It is rated as the No. 2 SMU study centre in entire India. It has also been selected as the Nodal Centre for the Eastern region to conduct Biotechnology practical. Today CITC has 6 departments i.e. Computer Science, Management Sciences, Biotechnology, Allied Health Sciences, Journalism & Mass Communication and Arts & Humanities

The College was established with an aim to put a stop to the brain drain problem in Assam and the North Eastern region. The meritorious students of the region manage to get admitted to good colleges in Deptt.s of their preference but it's the average students who go out of the region searching for good institutions imparting professional courses and as a result shell out lakhs of rupees in the process. Imparting professional courses at a much lesser rate minus donations & the travel cost to other states CITC is catering to the section of students that form the maximum percent in the overall educational scenario of a state, which was one of the objectives of establishing this college.

The main endeavor of the College has always been to provide the students with professional training and it has been successful in the sense that the College has quite an impressive placement record. Along with professional training the College also involves its students in various social welfare activities to instill in them a sense of duty towards the society
